According to Songfacts, No Longer At Ease takes its title from a book of the same name by Nigerian novelist Chinua Achebe. The book tells of Obi Okonkwo, who leaves his Nigerian village for a British education and a job in the colonial civil service, but who struggles to adapt to a Western lifestyle and ends up taking a bribe .
