In February 2014, Blige recorded vocals for a new version of F for You, a song by British electronic garage-house duo Disclosure. The track become a top ten hit on the UK Dance Chart. Inspired by its response, Blige initially hoped to record an EP with the duo. in July 2014, it was announced Blige would move to London to record in RAK studios with a host of this decade's most celebrated British artists and songwriters, including Disclosure, Eg White, Jimmy Napes, Naughty Boy, M.J. Cole, Emeli Sandé, Sam Romans and Sam Smith. The results were ten new songs, co-written .
