Alexandrina Milcheva

Bulgarian mezzo-soprano Alexandra Milcheva (Александрина Милчева) was born in 1934 in the eastern Bulgarian town of Smyadovo (Смядово). She made her debut in 1960 as Dorabella in Così fan tutte on the stage of the Varna Opera Theatre. Milcheva has had an illustrious career touring with world renown conductors throughout Europe, South America, and North America. She is a great fan of lieder by Schumann, Rachmaninoff, Brahms, Mussorgsky, etc. Besides recitals, she also is a greatly renowned pedagogue of voice.
